Meet the Humans

Lochan Zanda Highlands is run by Maisy Yeager, a scientist-turned-farmer, and Andre Merza, a fellow scientist and lifelong cook.

After years working in science and research in New England, they traded the fast pace of city life for rolling hills, open skies, and a slower rhythm in Tennessee. What began as a leap of faith quickly became a growing farm centered around Highland cattle, good food, and meaningful community.

Maisy brings the vision—caring for the animals, shaping the farm’s future, and creating the events that bring people together. Andre is the steady builder and farm chef, crafting unforgettable meals and making sure just about everything on the farm actually works.

Together they’re building Lochan Zanda Highlands into a place where visitors can slow down, laugh, meet the coos, and reconnect with the simple joy of being outdoors.
